Inner Ear, Cochlea
Ultra-low magnification of a cross section through cochlea of the inner
ear which is located within the petrous portion of the temporal bone. The
cochlea is a helical tube that spirals about a central bony core (modiolus
- M) which contains the cochlear nerve and cell bodies of bipolar neurons
(spiral ganglion - SG).
